FG Settles ASUU N70bn, Call off strike

During the recent meeting held between the Federal Government and AASU has been concluded.

The federal government on Friday had concluded with the association of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and I’ve agreed to remit the sum of N40bn and N30bn for allowance and revitalization respectively.

The meeting which was presided by the Minister of Labour and Employment,  Dr. Chris Ngige has agreed to call off the 8-month strike caused by the lack of funds and unpaid salaries.

As against the new Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), the association ensures their demands are met by the federal government. The date at which the strike would be communicated as soon as the agreement is approved by its members.

The government also assured that all salaries in arrears would be paid before the end of December.
